Cupps Masonry, Inc. was founded in 1971 by John Cupps, Sr. and was originally known as John Cupps Masonry.
Over the course of the last 40 years, Cupps Masonry has grown from a backyard-based business to one of the leading and most respected concrete, masonry and general contractors in Northern Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

John Sr. is now joined in the business by his three sons, including part-owner John Jr., who oversees daily operations and a staff of as many as ten. John Jr. is active in the building trade community and currently serves on the City Council for City of Harbor Springs, Michigan. John Jr. also serves as the fire chief of the Harbor Springs Area Fire Department, an all-volunteer organization.
